Virgin Money Giving

It’s a big year for Citizens Advice!

The Citizens Advice service provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.

The service aims:

· To provide the advice people need for the problems they face

· To improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives.

Arun and Chichester Advice is funded by local authorities, various grant giving organisations, donations by Town and Parish Councils and private donation.   Whilst the day to day workload increases and our local authority grants diminish we have to reach out to ensure the continuity of this vital service in the community.

However, we have amazing volunteers who give freely of their time to make sure that people in our communities get the service they deserve, supported by a group of highly qualified professionals.

For example we provide representations in welfare benefit appeals to people who are unable to represent themselves. We provide a face to face Debt Relief Order service for people who are unable to deal with this over the phone. We have set up and manage a Law Clinic where people can get free legal advice from experienced solicitors.

We want to be able to continue to do this and, to do so, we need your help

You can help us by volunteering or by financially contributing towards us continuing to provide the services that our communities deserve.

On the 4th September Citizens Advice will celebrate its 80th Birthday and we are celebrating this year with numerous fundraising events.

Louise Martin, our Treasurer, will start these events by swimming 80 km in 80 days ending on the day of our birthday.

This will be followed by staff and volunteers taking part in the Chichester Legal Walk on the 11th September.

These celebrations will culminate in a prestigious charity ball in aid of Citizens Advice in Arun and Chichester on 27th September this year, to be held at Chichester Yacht Club.
